ROBERT D. WELTI: Advertising, Public
Relations (Private pilot)
B.S. (English), Utah State University 1948
Bob Welti, an active aircraft owner and pilot, is one of the early pioneers in TV weather broadcasting. He began his broadcasting career before he graduated from high school in his home town of Logan, Utah. Following the Second World War, Bob was hired to work for the first television broadcast station west of the Mississippi River, W6XIS in Salt Lake City. As a TV personality, his weather-casts have always ranked #1 in one of the largest geographic markets in the United States. His meteorological training came from his earlier career as a U.S. Navy pilot. Bob is a principle owner of the advertising agency, "Welti and Call." As a popular "personality" in the entire Intermountain West region, he is active in public speaking and public service. He presently serves on the Board of Directors of the Utah Pilot Association and the Utah Opera Board. Following Bob's retirement from more than 40 years of broadcasting, he serves TERRASTARR not only as a highly active Board member, but brings into the daily operations his tremendous talent and experience in public relations and marketing.
