Among mortal men, those who would trapse off into the wilderness with no promise for success or survival were considered either holy, or insane. These were the discoverers of a new world of unknown beasts and wild terrain. They were the astronauts of the past. It soon became clear: whatever experiences they actually lived to tell about, are legend.
This face was modeled to inspire us to look into our past. It is now for our generation to look on in awe and restore the lessons it has to teach us. It is up to us to determine the traces of our own history, where we came from, who we are, why are we here, etc. Of course, since no one could prove otherwise, there were always the made-up stories to go along with the real ones. Therin lies the dilemma: how do we separate the myth from the legend?
